Strata properties in BC
A strata property (a condo or townhouse) is owned under the Strata Property Act. Each owner holds a strata lot on a registered strata plan; hallways, roof, walls and grounds are common property owned together through the strata corporation.
The City’s property tax report lists every strata lot with its own assessed value, so each unit has its own page here. The building’s permits, zoning and floodplain status are shared by all its units.
Before buying, ask for the Form B information certificate, the depreciation report, the last two years of minutes, the budget and the contingency reserve fund balance, and the bylaws (rentals, pets, age limits). Special levies and envelope repairs show up in these documents, not in open data.
