Pricing questions
Where does the information come from?
From public sources: the City of Vancouver’s open data (building permits, the assessment roll, zoning, the Heritage Register, the designated floodplain, rental standards, lot lines, street trees and elevation), the Vancouver Police Department, the Vancouver School Board and TransLink. Every finding names its source.
Is this a replacement for a home inspection?
No. Records show what was permitted and filed, not the condition of the house. Use the report together with a home inspection, a title search and advice from your realtor and lawyer before you remove subjects.
How much does the full report cost?
The address page is free. A full report is $20 CAD for one address, 20 reports cost $100 ($5 each, use them any time), or you can open unlimited reports for one hour for $60. Paid once by card through Stripe, no subscription.
Does it work for condos and townhouses?
Yes. For strata buildings we check the building as a whole: permits, floodplain, year built and the strata documents to ask for.
How current is the data?
We refresh the City’s datasets regularly. Each page shows the date its records were checked. Permits issued in the last few days may not appear yet.
Where do I find reports I paid for?
In your account, under My reports, together with the PDF.
